Oatly has been one of the fastest growing dairy alternatives on the market, expanding from Sweden to more than 20 countries globally in the 2010s and nearly tripling the oat milk category in the US. In recent years, however, Oatly’s future has become uncertain. Supply shortages and interrogations into their health and sustainability claims have weakened Oatly’s stronghold as category leader and brand darling.
